Tommie Elaine Shattuck

Tommie Elaine Shattuck, the daughter of Thomas James
Perry and Carolyn Sara Carey Perry is a ninth-generation
Athenian (Athens, Georgia). She is married to Dr. Gary
L. Shattuck, who holds his Ph.D. in Instructional
Technology from the
University of Georgia.
The Shattucks have one daughter, Ruby Elaine Shattuck,
who was graduated from
Choate Rosemary Hall in
Wallingford, CT and then completed her undergraduate
work in Italian and Cognitive Science at
Georgetown University.
Ms.
Shattuck attended
the University of Georgia, where she earned her A.B. in
English and took post-graduate studies at the
University of Georgia.
Additionally, she was tapped for
Phi Beta Kappa Piedmont College
while
attending for her Master of Arts in Teaching (English
Secondary). Ms. Shattuck also holds a degree in
Fashion Merchandising and Professional Modeling from
Bauder College.
She is currently the Director of 'Finishing Touches'.

MsMs. Shattuck honored when her NSDAC chapter was named after
an ancestor, her grandfather Governor Robert Daniell,
who served as colonial governor of South Carolina and of
North Carolina as one of only a few colonial governors
who served two states. Additionally, the National
Society Daughters of the American Revolution awarded her
with the Southeast Region Award for working with over
$500,000 in scholarship money for Georgia
students.

Additionally, Mrs. Shattuck belongs to numerous
organizations with which she remains active. She
is member of the
Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, Gamma Alpha Chapter and is
the
Executive Council Advisor to Operations, as well as an
Alumnae House Association Member. Mrs. Shattuck is
the Captain of 'Team Shattuck' at the Athens Country
Club.
She is
also past Vice President of the Athens Area Church Women
United; a co-founder of the Athens Mothers Against Drunk
Driving; a Past President of the Athens Historical
Society. She holds membership in the Athens
Symphony Guild; the
Erudite Study Club;
National Debutante Society Cotillion Family. She
is an Associate Matron for the Order of the Eastern
Star, and past President and Honorary Member of the
University of Georgia Demosthenian Literary Society, as
well as a recipient of the Demosthenes Award for
Extemporaneous Speaking.
Mrs.
Shattuck is a
former Youth Ministry Bogart Methodist Church; a member
of the organizing board of Dunwoody Presbyterian Church;
and a member of the Flower Guild, Wedding Guild,
Williams Rhoades Committee and former Sunday School
Teacher at Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Additionally, she served as Secretary for the Clarke
County Republican Precinct and is a former Field
Representative of the Georgia State Republican Party.
