Perryman

Frank Lee
Perryman, a native of Sylacauga, Alabama, is the son of
Frank Gene Perryman and Dora Frances Vinson. He was
graduated with a B.A. in Marketing from the
University
of Alabama.
Mr. Perryman is Director of Broadcast
Technology for the Associated Press based in Washington, D.C. He joined
AP in
1980 as Broadcast Executive for Florida, followed by a
similar role in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
In 1985, he was assigned to the Office of the Director
in Washington and, in 1997, was named Deputy Director,
Administration, responsible for day-to-day
administrative operations, contract administration,
strategic planning, budgeting, and
development & implementation of administrative and
news/weather relay systems. He also served as Assistant
Secretary of AP until 1995. Since 1989, his primary
focus has been technology projects, and his Washington
and London teams develop, market, and support innovative
production technology used in most of the world’s
broadcast newsrooms.
