LTC Charles Robert Odom

Charles
Robert Odom, a native of North Carolina,
is the only child of Guilford Ennis Odom and Effie
Casandra Nash Odom. LTC Odom is married to
Carla
Lucille Whitehurst Odom,
and has two daughters,
Charlotte Martin Odom Lytle Perrin (Mrs. David Courtney,
Jr.) and Catherine Lynne Odom Quick (Mrs. Kenneth
Douglas), as well as several grandchildren.
LTC Odom earned his BS from
Campbell College and
an MBA from
Troy State University. He was also
graduated from the Quartermaster Officers Career Course
and the US Army Command and General Staff College.
He is
a retired US Army Officer, and a veteran of the Vietnam
War. LTC Odom's distinguished military career
in the Army included that as an Engineering and
Service Test Officer; Assistant Secretary to the General
Staff; Company Commander; Chief of Protocol; Assistant
Professor Military Science; Guest Lecturer; Staff
Officer; Course Director for Army Auditors’ and Major
Items Management Courses. In addition, LTC Odom is a
former Systems Analyst with Computer Sciences Corporation,
and GED Instructor.

Other Notes
Charles Robert Odom and his family were awarded the
Family Life Award as Family of the Year by the
Coats Women’s Club. He is a Rotarian, former
President of the Colonial Heights Club and a Paul Harris
Fellow. Odom is former Chairman of the Board of the
Fort Rucker School Association, member of the Board of
Visitors of Mary Baldwin College and for many years
Class Agent for Campbell University. He is a former
member of the Petersburg Music Festival Chorus. Odom is
former President of the Chapel Council at Mark Twain
Village Chapel, Heidelberg, Germany, Junior Warden of
St. Paul Episcopal Church, Petersburg, VA and Chairman
of the Board of Deacons at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church
in Colonial Heights, VA. He is a member of the Army and
Navy Club of Washington, DC and the Umstead Pines Club
of Durham, NC. Hobbies include genealogy, singing and
woodworking. |
