Karen Elizabeth McCandless McClendon

Karen Elizabeth McCandless McClendon,
a sixth-generation native of Texas, is the daughter of
H. R. McCandless, Jr. and
Ruth King McCandless
She has three children:
Lisa Lynn Lair, Leslie
Ann Murray and John Kevin McClendon, Esq., as well as
five
grandchildren.
Ms.
McClendon
completed her undergraduate degree as well as her
Masters in Education at
West Texas A & M University
and enjoyed a teaching career in secondary education,
specifically teaching English and Art.

Ms.
McClendon has been affiliated with Dallas Heritage
Village
for over twenty-five years as a docent and fund raiser.
She is a member of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas.
Her interests include antiques, art, bridge, history,
music, reading, theater and travel (in addition to her
passion for genealogy). Ms. McClendon has written
numerous articles for lineage society publications; is active in
three women’s clubs, two antiques clubs and a book club,
and is a member of the Franklin County Tennessee
Historical Society. |
