Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony

The Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony of the Hereditary Society Community of the United States of America was held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the Washington Club.  Guests were welcomed by HSC Consultants and received in the Drawing Room by ladies and gentlemen of the Advisory Council.  Guests enjoyed a Reception in the Grand Ballroom between 5:30pm and 7:30pm, where cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were served. Baroque and Classical selections were played from the balcony by the Saint Charles String Quartet.

Guests were seated at 7:30pm and welcomed by Mr. John Mauk Hilliard.  Mr. Hilliard thanked Mrs. Eleanor Warrene Smallwood Beasley Niebell, a life member of the Washington Club, for her kindness in sponsoring the event.  The Rev. Dr. Albert Clinton Walling, II gave the blessing and dinner was served.

For dinner, guests enjoyed an excellent menu, which included Cream of Corn Soup with Parmesan; Mixed Green Salad with Artichokes Hearts, Hearts of Palm and Roaste Tomatoes; Grilled Flank Steak sliced and served atop a White Bean Puree; Cabernet Sauvignon Demi-Glace; Roasted Potatoes Maxim's; and a Vegetable Medley. Red and white wine was served with dinner, which was followed by a dessert of Tiramisu with a Cointreau Liqueur Sauce.

Following dinner, Ms. Nita Augustus introduced members of the Advisory Council, HSC Consultants, and past Honorary Members in attendance. Following Ms. Augustus' introductions, Mr. John Hallberg Jones explained the nature of the Annual Honorary Awards, and then introduced each Honorary Member for the Class of 2006.  Plaques were presented respectively by HSC Advisors, Col. Stewart Boone McCarty and Mr. John Mauk Hilliard.

Following the Awards Ceremony, Mr. Barry Christopher Howard thanked everyone for attending.  The evening was an enjoyable time of fellowship, honor and celebration, and the Advisory Council wishes to thank each guest who supported HSC by attending.

It is to be noted that many individuals gave special gifts this year.  A specific page is dedicated to the Patrons of the event, (giving in excess of $500), but we felt it appropriate to list all giving levels below, as well.
